Peking, January 21, 1908.
An Agreement, under which Peking Syndicate surrender all their rights in Shansi and receive as compensation 2,750,000 taels (about £400,000), was signed at the Wai-wu Pu to-day between the Shansi Bureau of Trade and the Peking Syndicate.
Should the Province of Shansi require a foreign loan for mining purposes, the Peking Syndicate is to be notified by the province, and the Syndicate's proposals will be entertained, if found to be fair and moderate.
